Ben Kelly

(Aka: Kelly, BK, Tailgrab Ben, Benners…)

Ben was raised by his parents Lynne and Steve, with his four siblings Jack, Aimee, Sam and Charity near Bristol. His love of the outdoors soon moved him to Cornwall where he worked seasonly as a Chef before deciding to retrain as a Paramedic.

Becky Brook

(Aka: Brookster, BB, Becksdog, Becks, Bikki…)

Becky grew up in Cornwall with her parents Annie and Randall and her two brothers, Jonty and Barney. She worked on the beaches as a lifeguard which lead her to pursue a career as a Paramedic. After training and working in London for a few years she returned home to Cornwall.

The love story

Becky met Ben on her first day of her new job at sunny St Austell ambulance station. It was love at first sight when arriving to work that morning. After nervously walking through the doors she was met face to face with the softest, hazelnut brown cookies she had ever seen! Freshly baked, she couldn’t contain her excitement and quickly commented on how delicious they looked. In a nonchalant manner her crew mate said “ah yeah, that’s probably Ben…” and they carried on with their morning duties. Becky couldn’t help but wonder about this mysterious baker and before long was awoken from her day dream after bumping into a tall, dark and handsome stranger in the corridor… his name, Ben.

Becky soon developed an eye for this mysterious, baking paramedic and after conveniently positioning herself in the right place at the right time, conversations of wetsuits, cooking, surf spots, yoga trips and outdoor adventures sparked. With a little help from a few match-making colleagues, their first date was arranged…

“On a blustery morning I drove us there
To the lizard we headed, she played with her hair.
With a face that glowed each time that she smiled
She sat & listened as we covered the miles.
Her name is Becky, or Becs for short
the girl of my affection whom I hope to court.

A cute sandy spot down on the beach,
We shared her tea and a biscuit each.
We laid on the blanket and stared at the sun,
I was already convinced this girl was the one.

We talked about work, families and pets,
Flirting with the topic of what dog we could get.

Soon came lunch, on the cliffs, by the sea
Falafel sandwiches, strawberries and more of her tea.
By the time we’d eaten, our next date was planned.
Hours passed by as we strolled hand-in-hand.
Under the lights on Porthleven pier
I went in for the kiss, knees trembling with fear

The time came to head back home,
What a perfect day, the time had flown!
I dropped her back and we said goodbye,
I left with a grin and a glint in my eye.
Home then with a hope and a dream,
Will this girl become part of my team?”
